Jethro Wilson
Director of Fundraising
Mr. Wilson supervises a Social Behavioral Learning Unit for primarily dual-diagnosis residents at Every Child's Hope in St. Louis County. With extensive experience in various roles and capacities, he began his career working with youth in Marshall, MO, at what was then known as Butterfield Youth Services (now a Great Circle facility). Starting as a Social Work student, he was advised by his intern supervisor that he might not be able to help every child who came through the doors, but if he helped just one a day, he had done his job. This advice motivated him to do his best, and he continues to be driven by this commitment today. Helping others has been the most rewarding aspect of his life.
As a high school student at Cardinal Ritter College Prep, Mr. Wilson's teachers instilled in him the importance of going above and beyond for the young people he worked with. He has also worked as a recreation therapist at two state DYS facilities and a mental health facility. Recently, a respected former colleague invited him to join The My Life in a Bag Foundation as the Fundraising Manager and Grant Seeker. Mr. Wilson feels blessed to have this opportunity to further assist youth and the community.
Over the past 30 years, Mr. Wilson has gained experience in various fields, including a nine-year tenure at a hotel where he advanced from bussing tables to becoming the Purchasing Manager before 9/11. In his spare time, he enjoys working on cars, attending sporting events, and watching movies, all while spending time with family and friends.
