Jethro Wilson

Director of Fundraising

My name is Jethro Wilson. I supervise a Social behavioral learning unit for mostly dual-diagnosis residents at a residential facility (Every Child's Hope in St. Louis County). I have long worked with people in multiple capacities and roles. I started working with youth in Marshall, Mo., at what was then known as Butterfield Youth Services (Now a Great Circle facility). I started there as a Social Work student. My intern supervisor had to tell me that I would not be able to help every child that came there and that if I helped one a day, I had done my job. I was determined then to do my best, and I continue to feel that push to this day. Helping others has been the most rewarding thing in my life.

As a high school student at Cardinal Ritter College Prep, my teachers showed me the importance of going above and beyond for the young people you work with. I also have experience working as a recreation therapist at two state DYS facilities and a mental Health facility. Now a great man and former co-worker have asked me to take on a role with The My Life in a Bag Foundation as the Fundraising manager/Grant seeker, and I am so blessed to have another option that will allow me to help even more youth and our community. Over the past 30 years, I have worked In some capacity with people, even working at a hotel for nine years, starting out bussing tables and ending up as the purchasing manager until 9/11. I enjoy working on cars, sporting events, and movies in my spare time. The latter are all done in the company of family and friends.
